Hello All,
Since 2016, I have edited an annual themed anthology featuring work by writers in and around Kern County. The first anthology was Writing the Drought, followed by Writing WorkWriting Flora/FaunaWriting Sound, and Writing FieldsWriting Fields was going to be the last of these anthologies, but a grant by the CSUB Pandemic Research Group has made it possible for one more edition to exist; I am in the process of soliciting submissions for the 2022 anthology, Writing Covid, inspired by our range of experiences during these uncertain times. If you are interested in participating, send two poems or two works of flash nonfiction (mini-essay prose reflections under 500 words) as attachments to mwoodman@csub.edu by April 8. All participants will receive a copy of the anthology and will be invited to participate in a community reading after publication (date and setting to be determined). Feel free to pass along the attached flyer (or forward this e-mail) to other local writers who may be interested.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Take care,
Matt
