Andrew Robert Sanchez
Andrew was born in Santa Maria, CA, June 17, 1945. He died on April 7, 2026 in Bakersfield at the age of 80. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. Andrew participated with 82nd Airborne during the Dominican Revolution in 1965, and served with the 7th Infantry Division in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. During his service, he received numerous medals and awards.
Andrew composed a collection of poetry about his experiences in the army, especially about Vietnam. Those who knew Andrew, knew his deep enduring love for poetry, reading, story-telling and listening to music. He loved traveling and visiting with his family. Affectionately known as “Andy”, “Paka”, and “Bugs” he will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
